Grandpa

I finally made it to the exhibition of old photographs and memorabilia from Leith currently showing as part of the fringe.

I was disappointed. All four of my grandparents were born and lived in Leith, so the collection of old knick knacks was very familiar, and reminded me of dreaded Sunday afternoon visits when I'd much rather have been playing with my pals.

One of the photos from the 1930s showed a group of shopworkers standing outside the Cooperative Store. I was convinced I had the same photo at home, but it's just a very similar photo, and a completely different store. Probably rivals - like an early Tesco versus Sainsbury.

My grandfather is the tall one, third from the left.
