Window Shopping

An absolutely perfect Saturday in Boston. The sun is shining, temperatures are in the 70's, and the sky is a clear, cerulean blue with not a cloud to be seen. A perfect day for a long stroll.

We set off across Boston Common, and then down through the Public Garden before ambling down Newbury Street, gawking in all the fancy shop windows ... Chanel, Burberry, Armani, Cartier, and Dorfman Jewelers -- a shop stuffed with Van Cleef & Arpels gems amongst other treats.

These jaw dropping earrings were displayed in the window, and I couldn't resist the temptation of taking their picture -- the closest I'll ever get to owning them! (Although in all honesty, I can't quite picture wearing them ... they look awfully heavy!)

On to South Boston, and a stroll through the lovely, quiet neighbourhood there, with its charming bow-fronted brick townhouses, and leafy, peaceful little streets.

We had lunch at The Butcher Shop -- delicious, but oh, so pricey! I ordered a $14.00 beet salad with goat cheese, fennel, and tarragon vinaigrette. It arrived on an enormous plate, but the portion size was so tiny, you practically had to use binoculars to see the food! Good for the waistline, though.

Back home now, and I must admit I'm rather tempted to take a nap!
