Pied Shags at Moorhouse Point, Paremata

Pied Shags (Phalacrocorax varius) are nesting in a large Monterey pine at Moorhouse Point, on the Pauatahanui Inlet. The birds have built nests either at the top of the tree, or at the ends of higher branches. This made photographing them challenging.
