Messing about on boats

Thunderstorms and squalls led to a cancellation of racing in the Perini Navi Cup off Sardinia today. So we all went out and then came back again. I was on one of the big ones today owned by a couple who set up a business in their garage many years ago trying to make a better cup of coffee. It seems they were successful. They invented the first fully automated coffee machines that today deliver about 500m cups of coffee a year. "What would you like to drink?" asked Natalie who been shaking passion fruit cocktails the night before. It would have been churlish to ask for tea.

When we got back in to port our parking space had been taken up by a giant motor yacht which just happens to be owned by my near neighbour who I mentioned in a previous blip. He named the boat after his mother which was thoughtful of him.

So now, instead of a nice neat row of same-brand sailing yachts, there is this great pudding of a motor yacht breaking up the line. It just won't do.

Postscript: apparently it will do. It turns out that it's his parking space all along and he seems to be exercising his right to be there. I'm sure it will make him popular among the visitors.
