Sisimiut, Greenland

First stop heading north along the Greenland coast was the village of Sisimiut. This felt very similar to the villages in eastern Greenland I visited a few years ago – lots of colourful buildings perched on the rocks around the harbour, and lots of beaten up cars and pickups with very little opportunity to go anywhere. In Greenland all the roads stop at the edges of the towns.

This cluster of old buildings is Sisimiut Museum which gives a snapshot of what life was like as Greenland was starting to develop.
