Ascott House

A visit to a National Trust house today; Ascott House, near Leighton Buzzard, one of the homes built by the Rothschild family. The gardens are impressive, including a sundial made entirely from clipped yew. The dial is made up of Roman numerals in Box, whilst this is part of a motto running all round the dial which reads: "Light and shade by turn, but love always".
