At home: Introducing my old friend

What could be more beautiful than the clickity clack of an old typewriter. I found this wonderful machine in the charity shop yesterday. The profits of the sale goes to a charity that helps terminally ill children. There is something important about the permanency of the written word. In contrast to the temporancy of live events.

Sitting at the typewriter makes you somehow think that little bit harder and dig that but deeper for words.

This particular Italian Olivetti typewriter was a journalists 1950's model. Its lightweight and compact in its zip up case. I wonder what life it had before this blip entry. The words it has produced, perhaps the pictures that it captioned and how many times the bell and dinged on the page return.

Unique words, unique pictures, unique lives. X
