Scotland's Tapestry

This afternoon, I had a meeting with an old friend - and publishing contact - at the Scottish Parliament. This is the first time I've been inside the SP - somehow it never occurred to me that I could just walk in for a look...

My friend is involved in the Scotland's Tapestry project and she's been working hard all week to get the panels up in time for the public launch next Tuesday. It's an incredible project: 160 panels that cover 420 million years of Scottish history. It's thought that over 300 miles of wool has been used and people from all across Scotland have been involved in sewing the panels (65,000 hours of stitching!).

If you have a chance, do go and see it. It's on display at the Parliament until 21st September and there are plans for it to tour round the country.
