Cuddy Bridge

I have a fondness for packhorse bridges (having grown up with three in my village) but despite its name - cuddy being a Scots word for horse - and appearance, this is not on a trade route but was intended for passenger traffic.

Grade C listed the bridge is documented as having been built in 1701 for the benefit of the parishioners of the Pirn area, to the east of the Leithen Burn, to attend church at Kirklands to the north.
