La Vuelta

This annual bike race passed our village but we went out for the day so thought we'd missed it, until our route home was blocked by the race so, having no choice but to wait, we saw them pass by anyway. There were so many police motorcycles that I doubt whether you'd have seen one in the rest of Catalunya!

Day out:-
- to a garage sale down in he valley, mostly a load of rubbish except for books so I bought a dozen.
- called at the polytunnels to buy onion, cabbage and broccoli plant plugs, which we put in the fridge (not plugged in) to keep out of the heat
- onwards to the l'esglesia de les pinyeres.
- and then on with looking for the river Siurana, which we found eventually but it had no water in it.
- then to Bellmunt del Priorat for a very good lunch (olives, goat's cheese salad with nuts and dried fruit in Balsamic, bacalao (salt cod) with squid and potatoes, lemon mousse, coffee)
