Last train to Joppa Station

This abandoned North British Railway utility van would have been shunted here by a steam locomotive in the 1950's. It has been here beside the former Joppa Station building ever since. If this vehicle could talk it would be a brilliant source of social change. The station was finally closed in 1964. Commuters who wish to travel into central Edinburgh now have to use Brunstane station half a mile further up the hill.

I have been attending a training day all day in town and missed the chance to blip the beach today. I was, however, encouraged to see My Photo chosen by The Scotsman to be their Readers's Photo for yesterday!

I was sorry to miss The Portobello Show today but it was clearly another great event.
