Circus life

I wonder what kind of life is in circus?
Have you ever been thinking it?

You move around, from town to town... You build tent, sell tickets, have rehearsals, then there is the audience and the show, behind it there is the normal life - in vans. School for children, groceries, making food, washing laundry, feeding animals, cleaning, etc... Some more shots here. Though I am afraid that not very good ones...

Today it was time to go to the Circus Finlandia It is the only finnish Circus and was established as "Sirkus Finlandia" in 1976 by Karl-Gustaf Jernström. The first show was performed 21st April 1976 in Tammisaari, Finland. Today Circus Finlandia is the only Finnish circus of international standards. It is also a member of ECA European Circus Association. About 200 000 Finns attend Circus Finlandia's show each year. Today the Circus is directed by Calle Jernströn jr and arena was full of people, sold out actually, so there was 1150 of us then watching the show.

Circus Finlandia is a classical circus (not cirque de soleil - kind of one), with some 30 international artists and 70 employees in all... The circus tent is bought from Italy in 2009 and takes about 50x50m area to build up and it has 12m arena by it's diameter. The tour of Circus Finlandia begins every year in april and ends in november and they travel every year even 8000km around Finland and the show can be enjoyed in about 120 willage, town or city. This year's artist are here, text only in finnish, I am afraid, but photos are ok...

This year's show was not that good than for excample in 2012, which was quite overwhelming really with this motorist show for excample or the magical show with parakites and parrots!.. But the evening was nice family happening, we even got my mum with us in the circus!

In the photo there is this the tightrope walker Ramon from Australia...

Very relaxing weekend is ending. Have done some gardening and even made a little walk, even if my knee has been hurting a bit.

Have a nice start to your week, see you later!

Susanna
