The Royal Scottish Academy at the foot of the Mound in the centre of Edinburgh looks good as night falls. Coming home from football is now dusk, turning into night, although we are still playing in daylight. Tonight's match was actually eight-a-side, which changed the character of the game a little. A little less space meant goals were a harder to come by. We started slowly, going 0--3 down. We were only 3-4 down when I managed a neat bit of skill to bring down a long ball and flick it past the last defender. For perfection I would then have dinked it over the out-rushing keeper, but he managed to block my shot. Fortunately I managed to score the rebound. And then, in the last minute a neat move led to one of their defenders bulleting a header beyond his own goalkeeper to put us in the lead for the first time - a 5-4 victory :-)
