My exchange in Granada begins...

So for the first day of my exchange, here is my first (of no doubt what will be many) picture of the Alhambra, Granada's most famous landmark. This was taken during an Erasmus organised trip to the Albaicín district, the old Moorish area of the city whose distinct Arabic influence conjures up the strong feeling of wandering the streets of Marrakech rather than being in a small southern Spanish city.

Having visited the Alhambra the previous day and witnessed its enormity first hand, being able to see the palace in its entirety was a great experience. Made all the more pleasurable by the heat and the shining sun, despite this photo being taken at about 8pm. A welcome change from the miserable English/Scottish weather!
