Isle of Luing

this is a back blip.

We cycled around Luing today. This blip is us just before we got onto the Cuan Ferry, As soon as we boarded the sky's opened. It was torrential. But off we went, Firstly down to Tobberonachy for lunch. It is a lovely calm little haven.

It is one of these times when things dawn on me about things. We cycle around alot as a family. and down at Tobberonachy we sat watched someone rowing over to bail out a boat, spent ages staring into the sea and watched a crab wandering about, saw a star fish sitting on a rock, and watched loads of little herring fry jumping and twisting at the surface. Whereas those people who arrived by car, got out the car walked to pier had a quick look around and were back in the car and off. I really like the pace that cycling gives you.

From here we headed up to Cullipool and again the skys opened. We popped into see some friends of E's mum from when she was at school in Easdale. Hughie is a retired shellfish fisherman, which was so interesting to hear about. The amazing thing is how their whole catch is in Spain, alive, the day after they catch it.

Along the cycle there was lots of scarecrows beside the road, these had started in the school playground and were mysteriously moving at night to different locations each night.

A made a wee poem about them,

Number one was sitting with a bun.
Number two had a spider on his shoes,
Number three was sitting near a tree
Number four had a welly on the floor
Number five was maybe alive
Number six was made out of sticks
Number seven had come from heaven

This was great for getting her cycling along
