West Side View

Last week I posted an image from the eastern side of Cecile and Heinrich's house.

Late this afternoon we popped over to see what progress had been made this past week.
Apart from the roof, now firmly in place, plastering has commenced.

This image was taken from the western side, showing (part of) the two wings comprising bedrooms and studies, linked by die middle section which will feature the kitchen, dining and living room facilities. A stoep is shown at the front which will be covered by a veranda to keep the western sun at bay.

Once inside, it is surprising how light and airy the rooms and spaces are - full use has been made of windows and I think that they will greatly benefit from this as far as light and incoming warmth are concerned.

To my back from where I took this image, this is part of the view of the surrounding farming community.

In the front, the once brave posse, seem to have had a heavy weekend!

The work has reached the point where the inside fittings and fixtures will be attended to - may all go well as planned.
