City Lounge

Preparing to hot wire the red car.

This is an unusual installation in the middle of St Gallen - the so-called Stadtlounge or City Lounge. It was installed by the Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist, and there are red covered cars, chairs, a vase and fountains. It's quite mesmeric.

It's one of a number of interesting sights in this city - which I will see more of tomorrow morning before heading off to the airport and my next destination. My chosen blip just made it over a photograph of the earliest unsupported concrete staircase, in the main building of the University, which is an amazing and extraordinarily beautiful example of 1960s concrete brutalism. I'll try to get a flickr set together and will link to it later.
