Above the Canyon

Wow!

First time ever in a helicopter, and what a place for that to be. We did an early morning flight out from just south of the Grand Canyon for about an hour. The real highlight was after about 10 minutes of going over the forest we went over the rim of the canyon. What a draw dropping moment!

Viewing from above gives the sense of scale that viewing from the edge just can't do. If you're ever there I'd really recommend it.

We spent the middle of the day pottering around the town (including seeing the Imax film about the history of the Canyon. We headed back to the south rim for sunset - and moonrise.

Final day tomorrow. The two weeks have gone far too quickly.
