Petals Abstract

Not any interesting light creating drama today, like yesterday. So I have returned to another abstract flower study. This yellow hydrangea bloom tinged with purplish-blue was receiving the attention of a fly-like insect. It seemed a perfect candidate for the application of polar coordinates. This gives an attractive painterly effect which exaggerates the petals by elongation. This also goes for the fly in the centre!

Today I attended the funeral service for my Uncle Jack who had reached the ripe old age of 96 and who savoured life. For as long as I can remember he painted a Christmas card every year and had it reproduced to send out. I dedicate this blip to him. I think he would have approved!
