Syrah in autumn

Backblip from a morning's grape-picking - these were a neighbour's syrah vines with morning light streaming through. We picked grenache - not a good crop this year, many of the bunches small and sparse, suggesting the weather hadn't been favourable at the moment they should have been fertilised. A trace of the cold damp spring we went through.
Then some frustrating tiling to do in our little house, and a leaflet to write for the Cercle Occitan stall in the Forum des Associations in Pouzolles the next day. Variety - even if not the spice of life for the last two, more like a mild E-number flavour enhancer.
