September Challenge - Perpendicular/On the floor

Day 24 of DDW's September daily challenge - Perpendicular and a dip into HeartFreek's challenge - On the Floor

When I think of perpendicular I tend to think of the style of architecture with very strong vertical lines, most commonly found in church architecture since these are the buildings that have survived the best from that era.

No buildings like that within reach for me, and the nearest church is covered in scaffolding, but with so many vertical scaffold poles showing it has become a modern form of perpendicular architecture, and ultimately they all end up on the floor to support the scaffolding above, so a tenuous link to Heartfreek's challenge too.
