Fishermen

Fishermen preparing new lines above the harbour in Lipari. The silver "stream" is made up of hundreds of individual fishing lines and they sit or stand there for hours, pulling in one line at a time and fixing small floats along its length with a large hook at the end. Needless to say, being Italian, they talk and argue constantly.

The black drum contains the finished lines in a translucent dome of nylon dotted with the floats and hooks.
