Living in Brabant

Mist, redux

So, here I was, 7 a.m. on a Friday morning, my partner had an early interview, I was keen to go with him, to offer support and also explore the area.

I stood at the gate, wished him good luck, and walked in the semi-darkness back to the lake. It was cold, the first frost in months had formed, a mist clung to the water, like steam, rising above a boiling kettle.

A trio of geese circled, then decided to land, splash! Splash! Splash!

Ducks gently floated across, in the background cars shot by, commuters, perhaps?

Whoever they were, despite the cold, I was so happy to be standing there, to observe the moment.
It was beautiful.
