A Moth

A shout out to the very observant Mr S, who spotted two of these creatures while we were digging out the last of the tomato plants. They are the same color as dirt, and have the texture of plant debris. And not only does this one have sweet feathered shoulders, are those not dark hearts on its wings?

We are clearing the bed in order to plant some new seeds that we bought at the Seed Bank in Petaluma. It has a wonderful collection of hard-to-find heirloom seeds, as well as interesting tools and books. And the Seed Bank is indeed located in -- an old bank! An impressive large corner structure with tall windows, carved marble, and lots of wooden counters and drawers from the old bank. Definitely a good place to spend a lot of browsing time.
