#TasteYeBack at Melville Castle

Following on from the success of the Blogmanay project over Hogmanay [New Year celebrations, dear non-Scottish readers], there is another tourism-blogging initiative going on this week in Scotland.

The Association of Scotland's Self-Caterers is the trade body representing self-catering holiday homes. Their marketing arm, Embrace Scotland, has invited a group of 9 travel bloggers to Scotland to experience food, adventure and friendship, as well as a stay in some Scottish self-catering properties.

This evening the team invited interested folks to join them at Melville Castle, on the southern edge of Edinburgh, to eat some food they'd helped prepare, and get to know some of the tourism folks people here. I was honoured to be invited along, and discovered many old friends among the invited gathering.

In the photo Matthew Haggis, Deputy Chair of the ASSC, introduces David Hay from Melville Castle at the start of the evening.

We got to taste lots of interesting nibbles throughout the evening, and even Deep Fried Mars Bars to round off the sweet side. Wish I'd managed to photograph them... just so you could see that they are not just a myth.
