The Most Beautiful Run

Today I (Chris) ran the Royal Parks Foundation Half-Marathon in London for the Alzheimer's Society. It was an early start from home as the race began at 9am but it did mean a beautiful walk through Hyde Park to the start as the sun was rising (the blip was a iPhone shot looking towards the Diana memorial that just caught my eye for a moment).

The route took in Hyde Park, Green Park, St James's Park and Kensington Gardens as well as Victoria Embankment, Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament and Admiralty Arch. Described as the most beautiful run in the world's greatest city, it certainly was great to take in the sights. With many of the 16000 participants running for charity, the support around the route was great and with it being beautiful weather, it really made for a great day. I've been nursing a damaged calf muscle all week so it wasn't intended to be a super quick run but I still took a couple of minutes off my previous best at this distance finishing in 2 hours 4 minutes.
