Farewell to Portugal

We left our hotel in Sagres (in the very southwestern corner of the country) at 6:30 this morning, to drive to the airport at Faro, 90 minutes to the east along the southern coast. This image was blipped at 7:34, just as the sun was about to rise. There were 11 of us on our six-day tour (plus two guides), in two vans--the first, in front of us, was leading the way.
It was Marylee's and my first visit to Portugal, and it was wonderful--not only for the birds, but for getting to know a part of the country. (For the curious, our tour started a week ago.)

We flew to London, and I'll be blipping from there in the next few days.
