today i have done battle with the new printer.....alas i have bought one that will not take the thickness of photo paper that i prefer (290 - 310 gsm).  Messers. Hewlett-Packard were not very helpful other than to inform me that the flimsy scraps that their machine can tolerate happen to be made by them......

if anyone can recommend a reliable printer that will take thick photo paper i would be most interested.  having been through 2 X HP Photosmarts in quick succession i wonder if a change of manufacturer might be in order.
