We went to the preview of the new David Hockney exhibition at the Walker this evening. Apart from a few stand out pieces, there was quite a lot of filler. I suppose his early work, which this exhibition represents, is important because of its subject matter - homosexuality - from a time when sex between consenting males was illegal. He pushed boundaries and is to be applauded for that, but taken out of that context it's all a bit lacking in something. Still, worth a look nevertheless.

I thought there was a shot from the top of the library next door and there is, but this isn't the one I was after.
