Friday 1 June 2007: Alien Lands

Today I left the confines of my suburban backyard (you knew it was eventually bound to happen) to check out an area most people wouldn't take a second glance at - an open gravel pit.

This photo reminds me of Bill Watterson's fanciful interpretations of an alien planet in his comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes". I admittedly still collect his Calvin and Hobbes books, and I admittedly still live with my parents.
