Basil with dew

The seed heads of Wild Basil, Clinopodium vulgare, have a real talent for collecting the dew and looking quite special on dreary, dank days. This was taken in part of the nature reserve at the base of a north-facing wooded slope and it will not see any sun now until around March next year. The vegetation was absolutely sodden at lunchtime, while just a few metres away there was bright sunlight and a Comma and Brimstone were flying.
