Autumn on the canal

Took the young lad out for a walk/cycle today. He was supposed to be cycling, I was doing the walking. An early accident where he didn't manage to engage the brakes sufficiently meant he was nursing a sore chest for most of the walk as he'd hit it off the handlebars. Still a long way to go before he's ready for road-side cycling.

We took a circular route, partly walking by the canal, and then turning back at the point where the Water of Leith walkway crosses under the canal. A spot of lunch at the Blue Goose and we were set up for our return trip.

Didn't see Pensioner lurking in the trees where he was taking this shot - but as I just spotted that this was his blip of the day, I'm posting a photograph taken from the other direction along the same mooring as I did have a pic of exactly the same boat as he'd taken, but his is better...boo.

Also noticed via FB/Twitter/Flickr that Grant R. had been along the canal too - it was a popular spot.
