My Mini Adventure

World Heritage Site

Hired a car to see some more of Madeira than just the capital, Funchal.

Gorgeous tropical scenery, even if the weather was still a bit rainy! The guide book did warn us about the microclimates! N was happy to be able to tick off another UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was beautiful scenery... every time we turned a corner it took your breath away! Wowee!

Had a lovely day getting off of the beaten track. The roads were very steep and twisty at times, glad N was driving rather than me!

Left) Levada walk from Ribeiro Frio
Top middle) View from the Balcöes at the end of the walk. Lots of little finches in the trees.
Bottom middle) Viewpoint on the side of the road towards the north of the island.
Right) Church at São Vicente, a really pretty village.
