Great Uncle Albert's Blacksmith Shop

I photographed the original of this image this afternoon and was surprised how well it captured it. I am guessing the original was taken around 1910. Albert was born in 1879 and died in 1963. His shop was in a village called Rye Park, which is located west of Goulburn in South-west New South Wales. Albert was the first to own a car in Rye Park.

The sign on the shop says, "A.Holgate, Wheel Wright & General Blacksmith". It seemed quite a popular place to gather. I understand there was no pub in Rye Park. The nearest would have been Boorowa, around 20 miles away.

Hope you like this one Beckett.
