Active Period

I thought I would be posting a cloud obscured Sun today but just as I was about to upload there was a brief appearance in clearish sky so I dashed out and got this. The Sun is very active, having had 3 X class flares go off in the last 3 days. None of them were particularly Earth-facing so we probably will not see anything by way of aurora. AR1882 has a complex magnetic field and has enough energetic potential for strong flares, it is also is also gradually facing ever more directly towards us. AR1882 is the grouping with a triangular shape about a quarter of the way across from the left.
