Made in Canada

No.. No.. Not ME…My new collar and lead…OK?

The Boss and Bossess were determined to get me a pressie from Canada where they were, so they hunted out this pet shop where they were delighted to find most of the stuff was made in Canada.

It can be quite difficult to buy stuff made in the country you are visiting let alone the country you actually live in and these days, who cares?

Well The Boss thinks you all should care. For a start it is a matter of national pride to say nothing about employing your country’s folk to make your stuff.
Ah… You say but it may cost more, and there is the heart of the matter. Is your life driven by bargains? Yes I know there are a lot of people out there that have little choices in their life but there are many others that do so here’s the thing…

I am made in New Zealand
My lead and collar is made in Canada
I eat grub that is made in the Netherlands. It used to be made in Brazil but was not chosen for price but reputation.

The Boss (behind the camera) is wearing his Tilley hat (made in Canada)
And taking this pic with his Olympus Camera (made in China)
His jeans (made in Pakistan)
His Colombia shirt and Woolrich sweat (made in China)
His socks (Smart wool, made in the USA)
His understuff (Indonesia)
His sneakers (China)
And has an iPhone ( Guess?)

The only New Zealand component he has on him are his specs, lens made in New Zealand from imported glass, rest elsewhere. But I know of people who buy their opticals on the WWW ‘Cos they are cheaper.

So do an audit… What’s your local score?

There is a women’s fashion shop in our main street. The contents are made in New Zealand. The Boss says that if he was a girl it would be the first place he would go to buy because he is incredibly proud of it.

---End of rant---

Barking P.S Chocolate fish are still made in New Zealand. WooHoo…
opps …WooHoo’s were made in The USA.

Oh BTW this is shot from a hill overlooking the town so that's the lake you can see in the background.
