Taking a stroll

The forecast downpour didn't materialise until this afternoon which meant a really superb autumnal walk along the River Earn with my chums. It is astonishing to see how much green and yellow there still is on some of the trees while others are almost bare now with their golden fallen leaves providing a sumptuous crisp underlay. You can just see Cara and Bruce walking amiably along in tandem, sniffing to see if there was anything interesting amongst the fallen leaves. At the beginnings of our walks the pair of them charge around energetically but, almost always, by the time i am returning they have started to trot along side by side companionably and it always makes me smile.

This afternoon I spent a happy hour packing some items in a box to send out to my son and daughter-in-law in Nevada to be there in time for Christmas when the whole family are descending on them! Can't wait!!
