Pereto Moreno Glacier, Argentina

A brilliant day today, the weather was perfect for visiting the world’s third largest icefield, the largest being Antartica and Greenland. The wind was gentle, the skies blue. But not as blue as the ice!

The sight of these walls was awesome. They towered 60 metres into the sky with another 120 metres below water. Unfortunately, we did not witness the calving of any icebergs.

I would recommend viewing this blip LARGE! It was very difficult to choose a blip, but I think the pillar in the foreground will collapse very soon.

This glacier is actually not in retreat due to climate change.

Tomorrow, we hike on the glacier before flying to Buenos Aires tomorrow evening.

Thank you once again for putting up with my poor blipping in replying to your great comments, I’m sure you all understand, but please keep commenting!!

P.S. last night, a meal with beautiful wine and the most tender and tasty steak, about 3/4 kilo, £20!!
