These lovely people provided the live music to accompany the photo sequences at the launch of "Hebrides" today at the Faclan Arts Festival in Stornoway.

And what a terrific event it turned out to be. David Wilson, the photographer, and myself were interviewed in front of a large audience by former Gaelic TV presenter, Rhoda Macdonald. We showed four sequences of photographs from the book, which is a companion to the Lewis Trilogy.

Anna's haunting voice and pipes soared to the accompaniment of Alex's piano and guitar - contemporary arrangements of traditional Gaelic songs to enhance the beauty of the projected images. So emotional was it that a number of people were moved to tears.

David and I signed books for over an hour afterwards. Altogether a resounding success.
