A Carpet of Moss

Back Blip: One of the trails in MUN's Botanical Gardens descends a gentle slope under a canopy of evergreens. Looking to the side of the path (when not concentrating on one's footing) reveals a multi-dimensional view of the hillside under the trees. The ground is covered with a carpet of moss pierced by a multitude of tree trunks which rise straight up. There are few branches at ground level to obscure the view through multiple layers of trees.

Within the confines of the trail I had no choice but to fill the frame. I like the effect which accents the gray and black textures of the trees highlighted by the bright green stripe of moss. iPhone 4S using Pureshot with minor tweaking of contrast and saturation.
