Ridge Lane

That's not it's proper name, it's just what we call it to distinguish it from the other three lanes that we can use to walk to the Mas. Along this stretch it opens out on the left-hand side with a steep drop down the terraces, and the surface changes to chalk for a while. On a sunny day in the summer this can be dazzling, but on a day like today with grey and mizzle the brightness was rather welcome.

On the vegetable garden I got a bed of peas sown, the stakes pulled out of the tomatoes and half that bed cleared, and squashed more caterpillars on the cabbages. It's a daily task and I'm not sure I'm winning.
