A Bit of a Stretch

I’m ready for some shop time! I started this project months ago, but just hadn’t been in the mood for woodworking. Today I got the urge.

I had a piece of wood with a long split in it, and decided to glue it together. I borrowed Cynthia’s exercise stretch strap to close the gap, after I’d pried it open and spread glue inside. I wasn’t sure the strap was applying enough pressure, so I added a few clamps.

The fun part comes next — noisy power tools making lots of sawdust and shavings.

What am I making? Sorry that information is only available on a need-to-know basis. NSA probably knows all about it.
