Walking The Strand

That's what we did this morning.

Son Aidan headed into work (he works in shipping) so Doug and I got dropped off at The Strand. This runs the length of the beach, beautifully landscaped, paths, shelters, funky water playground, salt water baths, numerous cafes, and on the other side of the road, apartments, hotels, restaurants and shops (although not too many fortunately).
First stop beachside cafe for a iced coffee and berry smoothie, then a leisurely wander along to the end and back again, ending up at another cafe for coffees before being picked up and heading home.

Along the way we walked out on this pier, used for viewing, and fishing off, more decorative than anything else. I photograph it every time we come to Townsville and have possibly blipped it the last three years we have visited.

Whilst we were enjoying our meanderings Aidan walked Castle Rock which takes at least an hour, very grunty exercise.

Quiet afternoon, swimming and more swimming. It's another gorgeous day in paradise.
