Winter has arrived on the Canadian prairies!

This is the view from my Mom and Dad's kitchen window in Saskatoon. Friends and relatives in all of the Canadian prairie provinces are saying the same thing. Brrr! Winter has arrived!

The upside of winter in the prairies is the beauty of hoarfrost and crisp, white snow. I love prairie winter mornings. (Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I love looking at prairie morning landscapes from somewhere cozy and warm.) As I sipped on a steaming mug of coffee in my Amsterdam apartment, my Mom provided me with a long distance iPad tour of her yard. I took this screen shot of the park behind her back yard.
