The large sunspot group is has been very active and fired off a very brief but intense X class flare on Tuesday. The short duration meant that there was little in the way of geomagnetic interaction with the Earth. The group is now almost directly facing us so any flares could have interesting results! Predictions currently are for a 45% chance of M class flares and a 10% chance of X class flares.
