PARIS POKER BLOG Day 4

Cercle Wagran Casino with Arc De Triomphe in background

Cic had to go to work so he was off sharp. My flight wasn't leaving till night so I had one last chance to increase my losses or get even .
Casino opens at 2 so I'm sitting down by ten past. I get another maniac player sitting on my right, who wants to play and raise every hand. He raises 50 euros when I'm on the button to pick up 4 euros worth of blinds. I've got KK and they hold up against his 5-2 diamonds(!) He pulls the same stunt when I've got pocket Aces, things are looking up. He eventually leaves the table after about 10 - 15 minutes having blown about 300 euros...and a fair few of them are sitting in front of me!
The last hand i played in Paris was a real dud I called a raise with 10 8 and there were 2 others in the hand, I miss the flop completely but still call the continuation bet. Theres 3 of us and the turn gives me a gutshot - pretty feeble but I think I can maybe bluff it, right on cue a heart arrives on the river meaning theres three on the board I put in a healthy bet representing the flush. First guy folds, but the 2nd guys only got 20 left so he's not folding for the big pot. He's simultaneously reaching in his pocket for money for a buy in assuming I've got the flush and is delighted to see his trips are against 10 high! Really bad play by me, but at least the first guy folded so the mistake only cost me an extra 20.
I call it a day.
When the dust settles I'm up 10 euros! Not quite the french bounty I had hoped but seeing as this was almost a disaster, being about even feels like a healthy win.
The visions I had of swilling champagne with bundles of euros falling out of every pocket haven't quite come true, but theres always next time :-)
