Tobacco Hornworm, Revisited

Sorry about another caterpillar shot, but I couldn't help myself. I've been keeping him in a small plastic tank, with a few sticks for climbing and a daily change of fresh tomato leaves. When I read that they burrow into the ground, I added a scoop of nice dirt, but that doesn't seem to be on his radar yet. I love watching him move, lifting one careful foot at a time, and sliding his body along once the foot is anchored. He has quite a strong grip. One thing I have learned for sure: caterpillars poop A LOT. It's easier than cleaning a cat box though.

Make sure you see the red horn on his rear end. That is what distinguishes him from a Tomato Hornworm.
