Friday 11 September 2009: Leuchars - day 1
Things aren't what they used to be at the Leuchars media preview day. The pilot chaperones have been replaced with lowly corporals, lunch is now £2.50 instead of free, roaming around the incoming aircraft is a health and safety issue, and the complementary, on-call minibuses have been replaced with one's feet.
Photographing directly below the flight line is now fully off limits too, which means sitting with the general public and shooting into the sun (and not getting your eyebrows singed by an Tornado's exhaust).
I tell you, us media were going our dinger.
At least it was sunny and this cool dude was happy to pose on his very cool old aeroplane which he'd just finished throwing around the heavens. Next time I must remember to ask both their names.
