a frisson of danger

I made it back to the cliffs at Galley Head this evening after a fine day and a walk on the beach.
It was a high tide and above the roar of the waves there was loud thud every few seconds, like a giant's hammer. It was a bit scary until I worked out that it was coming from the cave or channel in the rock in the right hand corner of the shot. The waves were forcing in then blowing out again with this tremendous booming noise. You could feel the vibration of it through the ground.
I sat there perched on the clifftop for a long while watching the sunset.

Great to have a dry day, and it is still very mild.
