Flower barrow

The channel crossing yesterday didn't live up to my dire predictions. It was fine and smooth as the sea became much calmer than it had been. Our group of 25 cyclists had the use of a lounge at the bow of the ship. 9 of us had a superb dinner in the restaurant - 4 courses + coffee for those who could stay the course (not I I'm afraid). The 3 people who ordered shoulder of lamb were served it on the bone. It was gross and looked like the meal Neanderthal man might have eaten in his animal skins in his cave. The waiter told us that only truck drivers manage to eat it all.
We stayed the night in a pub near the finish of the tour in Denmead and this flower barrow was at the entrance.
This morning we had a mild panic as his Lordship noticed just as we were approaching the M25 that the bikes on the carrier attached to the towbar were leaning dangerously backwards. A pin had sheared off, but luckily we had straps and managed to secure everything before the bikes ended up as roadway wreckage. We are now lowering our blood pressure with a stop at Road chef at Jct 6 on the M25. Not for nothing am I the navigator! God Bless Road Chef and its free WiFi!
Till we meet again......in Suffolk
